He has successfully passed the International Codes Council test and will be receiving his Fire Alarm Inspector's License from the State of Kentucky.  This is a big accomplishment in the Technical field, so let's give it up for Jeff!

Josh Hill - Journeyman Test

 

Congratulations to Josh Hill for passing his Journeyman's Test.  We realize that this accomplishment took a big commitment, as well as a great deal of determination and effort and is a huge accomplishment.

Academy Sports Update

 

The Academy Sports + Outdoors Distribution Center Expansion is well underway.  This is a 500,000 square foot expansion to an existing 1Million square foot facility.  The tilt panels are standing, the decking is nearing completion, and the site is in great shape.  We have about 15 men on site this week.  The kitchen addition to the existing lunch room will be completed at the end of this month.  To cut cost we are trying out some air actuated fasteners as opposed to the traditional powdered actuated tools on this project.  Here is a link that has the Hilti GX 120 on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOH-A4tmjH4 .  We have also selected to use WireBarrel’s for the small branch circuits to save on installation time.  Here is a link that has the barrel use in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZFnU8NrTBo&feature=relmfu. 

We are very excited to get to use both of these techniques on this project.

Safety Training & BBQ

On Friday, October 26th. we had a morning of Safety Training and an afternoon BBQ supplied by Graybar.  The Alvaton Fire Department did on-site fire extinguisher training, Hilti did powder actuated tool certification and we held American Red Cross CPR, First Aid and BBP certification.

The day was a huge success with a Halloween costume contest and fun games.  Brian Mitchell won first prize and James Hishmeh won 2nd prize.
